What Portle is
Portle is a record-keeping and reporting tool. It calculates from the ledger you write. It does not provide investment advice, does not recommend securities, and does not execute trades.
The numbers
Portle calculates from what your sheet says. If a trade is missing or mistyped, the results are wrong in the same way — this is why the app includes reconciliation against your broker’s figures. Market prices are delayed and come from third-party sources; they may be incomplete or temporarily unavailable, and the app marks them as such rather than substituting a guess.
Nothing in the app is tax advice. Realized gains are split into short-term and long-term as a convenience; your filing is your responsibility.
Your ledger
The spreadsheet is yours, in your Google Drive, under your account. You may stop using Portle at any time and keep it.
Liability
Portle is provided as is, without warranty. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for investment losses or for decisions made using the app.
